UIF to ISO Converter GUI
This tool has been superseded by the original uif2iso converter (© Luigi Auriemna), which now has it’s own GUI. Use that.
Recently I made a converter GUI for daa2iso. Now I’ve decided to follow up with another similar tool – the UIF to ISO converter GUI
It’s almost the same as the previous one, except that it operates on files with the UIF extension.
The original converter application was created by Luigi Auriemna. It’s a command-line tool, which means the average computer user wouldn’t know how to use it. That’s why I made this version that has a more familiar and simpler Windows-based interface (a.k.a GUI).
Features
Converter by Luigi Auriemna, interface by me – Janis Elsts.
- Converts UIF archives to ISO files. You can then burn the ISO file to a CD or DVD with one of the many freeware tools like ImgBurn. Pretty much all of CD/DVD tools support the ISO format.
- Simple Windows interface – two input boxes and a button.
- Easy to use – just drag-and-drop an UIF file into the tool’s window and click “Start conversion!”.
- Doesn’t require installation – extract the .zip file somewhere and run uif_converter.exe.
Download UIF to ISO converter
Download : uif2iso_gui.zip (230 Kb) and uif2iso.zip from this page.
Extract all the files from both archives to the same folder and run uif_converter.exe to begin. If that doesn’t work, try uif2iso.exe – it’s interface isn’t as good (IMHO), but it should work as well.
FAQ
Do I need to download the converter/interface separately?
Yes. Luigi – the author of the converter – asked me to do it this way.
When I tried to convert a file something just flashed on my screen and nothing else happened! Hmm?
That’s probably because the converter encountered an error. You can try to run it from the command prompt to see the particular error message – feel free to study the beginners guide to WinXP command prompt if you don’t know how.
I tried the command prompt and it still doesn’t work. What now?
Keep in mind that I only created the interface, not the actual conversion algorithms. So I probably can’t help you in this case. You might have better luck if you try to contact Luigi, the author of the converter.
I have a question about the GUI part, who do I ask?
You can leave a comment below.
The file uif2iso.zip is available at

i appreciate your work and in two occasions, you have provided me with the most comprehensive and effective tools.
now, anytime i get stuck with something that is beyond my current knowledge, you will be the first to whom i turn.
awesome job!!!!!

Thankyou so so so much!!!
This is a really handy tool to have!
It’s also nice to see someone make something and not load it with spammy ads and the like.
Just a simple plain dialog box that WORKS!
Thanks again.
it keeps saving it as bin files instead of iso files???
@mike – try renaming them? Might work.
Well,if u tried to make a program which makes a B eeeep b e e e p sound and freezes, you succeded! Otherwise this does not worth a shit!
And what is that ˝download other part from different site˝ about?! It´s like u buy left sock in NY and right one in DC!
@user_NOT – Arrgh, you have discovered the crucial weak point in my plan for world domination. Alas! Et cetera.
Read the big cursive notice at the top of the post, you commenter person
Sorry but this doesnt work at all. I used the zip i went to convert and it just keeps saying that uifexe is not there when i am using the program. oh well will get it sooner or later lol thanks anyways probably something i am doing wrong.
@amy – You could try the uif2iso.exe from this zip.
well for me it does not work :/ both files installed in one directoryan other stufff…
the opens a black window… simbols are running but little later everything stops
just don’t know what to do :/
@Donis – Have you tried running the other .exe file, i.e. uif2iso.exe?
This works PERFECTLY! Just follow the instructions go download both files and the unpack them in the same folder. Then launch the launcher, ???
No Problems at all.
Thansk love this program
!
Please could someone help me out:
I get this ERROR msg saying ‘wrong bbis signature’.
The file i’m trying to convert is a UIF file. The story behind it is that i originally compressed a few folders with WinRar and then further compressed those with Magic ISO. Probably a silly thing to do but now it won’t open on Magic ISO because i get ‘can’t find the file or file isn’t CD image file’.
So i’m trying to convert it from UIF to ISO but i get this error msg ‘wrong bbis signature’.
Someone please help?
I suspect that if MagicISO can’t recognize the file then you probably won’t be able to get the converter to work either; the file is probably corrupted in some way.
@White Shadow –
Ok Shadow… though if it is corrupted, would that mean all the content that was compressed is now kaput and that there is no way i can recover it???
Here’s hoping there’s a solution!! Fingers crossed!
Elcid
@Elcid – Well, I don’t think I can help with that :/ Maybe you need a different version of MagicISO to open the file?
T_T help please
mine says:
“Error: the compressed input is wrong or incomplete”
@CryS – I think that means the file is corrupted; or maybe it’s not recognized by the converter. I’m afraid I can’t help you there.
I found myself with this fu…ng uif problem and tried with innocence the “right” way to solve it, and nothing at all… what a frustration. So looking for and trying various other ways finally the great light appeared when I found your GUI, and got a 100% perfect ISO.
Really a great job, Luigi, as a user it is simple and effective, many thanks many times, god bless you for your kindly effort.
Please excuse my bad english, thanks again,
gadp56

I downloaded it again and keep getting this message
@Mike – Have you verified that there is, in fact, an uif2iso.exe file in the directory?…
Thanks to you and Luigi!
