OGG's Vorbis and its modified version aoTuV kick the shit out of any lossy audio compression format mp3, wav and aac at almost any bitrate. Just take a look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorbis#Quality:_Codec_comparisons

Vorbis also has support for multichannel audio, up to 256 channels, while mp3 can only codec mono or stereo.

But regarding to quality, .flac is the best format out there.

Poweramp did convert the flacs just like u said but the flac files i was converting were entire discs so now each disc is one long track. Do you know how to break it back into multiple tracks from a flack file or from the converted mp3's?

"I tried out several free FLAC to MP3 converters prior to writing this tutorial. According to my testing, dBpoweramp seems to be the best choice."
It may be the best choice, but $28 is not free.

I have been exploring for a little for any high quality articles or blog posts on this sort of area . Exploring in Yahoo I eventually stumbled upon this site. Studying this information So i am happy to convey that I've a very excellent uncanny feeling I discovered exactly what I needed. I most no doubt will make certain to do not fail to remember this site and give it a look on a continuing basis.

I know a great free converter called Oxelon.
i had not tried convert the flac in that, but i can see both Flac and MP3 format is in it.

Only crap is, it opens a browser window, every time you finished converting.. But the good is, you can in the install folder remove the link (html file).

Look here at my screenshot:

All you need is download the prog and a plugin.
You can see more here guys:
